Honesty with Self is the way of Grace

I used to hate my middle name, Grace. I felt anything but graceful in my youth, the name felt like wearing an ill-fitted sweater and I was jagged and erratic. When I thought about “going within,” I thought of broken glass.

There are many aspects of American culture that punish honesty and reward deception. It’s hard to be honest with yourself when no one else around you is being honest with themselves.

So that’s why it’s important that when we are honest, we are gentle with ourselves… we give ourselves grace. Honesty with self is the way of grace. Honesty can hurt but it can also be the missing key you needed to take that step forward you’ve been meaning to take.

And no longer within me are the pointed edges of broken glass, but the divine, radiating shockwaves of the infallible truth of “I AM” — When we’re living in our full authentic honesty, the truth stops hurting us and it starts empowering us. A foundation of truth has no impurities that will crumble it away little by little… it can withstand the test of time.

What areas of your life could use a little more honesty?

Before you jump to statements like “I should be doing more with my time,” or “I’m not ______ enough,” I want you to reflect on this truth…

Is it possible that you’re doing the best you can right now in this moment?

Can you be okay with that truth? Can you give yourself that grace? It feels good when you do 😘🥰

Sending ya’ll love 💋
